Supportive Sloths North West (Sling and Cloth Nappy Library)

Terms And Conditions of Hire

You will receive an email as a receipt for your hire, detailing the return date and containing a link to a copy of these terms and conditions. Please add donotreply@myturn.com and hello@supportiveslothsnw.co.uk to your safe senders list to ensure you get reminders. The second email can be used to contact the library at any time.

Hires should be returned to a sling/cloth nappy library session, via the drop boxes in Newon-le-Willows and Garswood or via post. Posted item should be posted by the due date and posted via means to insure them for the full retail value (the librarian can advise on this).

For details on how to return via the drop box or via post please email hello@supportiveslothsnw.co.uk

Upcoming library session dates for return can be found on facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/SupportiveSlothsNW/events/ or on the website via this link: https://www.supportiveslothsnw.co.uk/book-online/ Library sessions are usually held each week during term time and monthly (barring August) at each venue. It is your responsibility to ensure you can return the carrier via one of the methods detailed above. Please only agree to these terms and conditions if you know you are able to return or rehire on time.

Information on how to rehire can be found here for slings and here for cloth nappies.

All items must be returned in a clean condition. Slings/carriers can be spot cleaned, cloth nappy kits should be returned having been washed. For washing instructions for slings carriers and nappies please see our website. All hired items must only be washed following our instructions. No other washing additives or temperatures may be used. Do not use fabric conditioner and do not tumble dry. Items must be dried away from direct heat. Failure to comply with the washing instructions may result in your being charged the full retail value for any items not correctly washed.

Hired items should be cared for and inspected for damage or stains before each use. Please contact the librarian immediately if you discover any damage. You may be billed for any damage above and beyond reasonable wear and tear, and the librarian reserves the right to bill users retrospectively for damage occurred during hires. At any time during the hire the library may request that you bring the carrier to us to check for wear and tear damage. This is only likely to happen in the cases of repeated rehires.

Do not allow pets near any hired items. Hired items should remain in a smoke free environment. If your child has any communicable illness whilst the hired items are in your possession please contact the librarian before return.

The T.I.C.K.S. Infographic is available to take home and will be sent as a link in your confirmation email. This is important for all sling users but is particularly important for very small babies. Please follow it each time you use your sling/carrier. Users are responsible for ensuring they follow the instructions for use provided, both manufacturer instructions and consultant/peer supporter instructions. The library cannot be held accountable for any failure to do so.

You will receive an email reminder FIVE days before your hire is due back from donotreply@myturn.com. Rehires can be made electronically or at a library sessions, details of library sessions and how to rehire are contained in your reminder email. There is no current limit to how many times you can rehire, but each hire agreement can only last a maximum of three months.

Items must be paid for during all the time that you have them. If you do not return or renew your hire before the agreed end date your hire will become overdue. You will then be subject to the following charges: £6 per week for the duration of the time you’ve had the carrier past the due date and £6 per week for any time you wish to have it beyond that. If you do not pay the fees of your own accord once your hire is 2 weeks late we will begin personal (rather an automated) reminders via email, text and paypal requests, if we have to chase you we will charge an additional £6 late fee to cover our costs. The charges will be waived in the following circumstances: The hire is returned to a sling library session within three days of the overdue date (the charge will NOT be waived if overdue hires are returned by other means.) or if there has been a clerical error made by the sling/cloth nappy library or the sling/cloth nappy library has not yet processed a payment you have made. And in exceptional circumstances.

If you decide to purchase a sling, carrier or nappies and need help finding them please contact the librarian.

During the hire agreement period you can swap your hire an unlimited number of times, swaps must be done at a library session and are subject to availability. If you swap to an item on a higher tariff then you may be liable for extra costs, if you swap to an item on a lower tariff you may be entitled to extra time on your hire (but not a refund on hire fees.)

All slings/carriers/nappies remain the property of Supportive Sloths NW during the life of the hire, consequently should the hirer fail to return or rehire their item(s) after a significant time frame then the hirer will be billed for overdue admin fees, hire fees, the full retail value of the item(s) and an additional admin fee (£20). Failure to communicate and/or pay will be escalated and treated as theft through the small claims court. This may result in a County Court Judgement (CCJ) against you, which will affect your ability to get credit.
